Nelson B. Burton, of Madison Co, AL
Posted by: Bob Burton in Gainesville, FL (ID *****8112) Date: November 22, 2009 at 12:47:10
  of 1519

I am curious to know if anyone has any information on this man in Madison Co, AL. Below are abstracts of the 1830 and 1840 censuses.

1830: Nelson Burton appears as head of a family in 1st and 2nd Ranges in Madison Co, AL census, page 067. Enumerated are M30-40 and F30-40. A second line says "Ditto overseer for B. S. Ross". Enumerated are 41 slaves.

1840: Nelson B. Burton appears as head of a family in south half of Madison Co, AL census, page 162.. Enumerated are M40-50, F40-50.

It appears that he and his wife had no children, thus his family tree may have died with them. I'm interested in any Madison Co, AL records that he may have appeared in and anything that would indicate who are his parents. Thanks.
