Searching for descandants of Thomas G. Wood, b. 1800 N.C. Not sure how many children he had but he had at least two wives.

He is found on the 1850 Russell Co., Al. census with second wife Zilpha, age 30, his age is shown as 50 b. N.C.
In the house is daughter Josephine, age 15, b. Miss.?? This seems to indicate that he lived in Mississippi for a time.

He is found again on the 1860 Russel Co., Al. cenus (Josephine is out of house, probably married).
He is found on the 1870 census of Macon Co., Al.(Tuskagee Dist) His age is 70 and he is a Merchant. Wife Zilpha is with him age 50 b. GA.

The 1880 census of Macon Co., Al. shows only his wife Zilpha, age 60 b. Ga. She is called "Merchant" and living next door to J. L. Carmichael, age 64, wife Jane, age 60. She is not living near step-daughters Josephine, Gemima, or Elizabeth.

Gemima Wood married Jacob B. Clements, 5 Oct. 1849 Russell Co., Al

Elizabeth Wood Married William M. Clements, 22 March 1849 in Russell Co., Al.

If you think you descend from any of these, please contact me. Virginia Tuttle Gintut@aol.com
