Am researching the family of James Madison & Eleanor G Williams Allen m in 1867 in Macon Co. James Allen was a physician, had previously been married to Caroline O Burford/Buford in the 1860 census. In 1850 I find James above with his parents James and Elizabeth Allen in Macon County and an elderly Benjamin Vinson, 76, living with them. No relationships were indicated on this census (bummer!); James, Sr, Elizabeth and Benjamin were all born in SC and I want to determine if Benjamin may be Elizabeth's mother. Does anyone have any information that may help? I will be searching Vinson boards; SC boards (no idea which county, etc.) Thank you.
