Looking for info about this family who were found in Lee County (Auburn and Loachapoka) in the 1870 and 1880 censuses. By 1880 Eleanor was a widow, farming in Lee County, Loachapoka, with children Zula (Zulia), age 10 (my g-grandmother), Edith, and Charles W. Charles and family can be found right up to 1930 census. What happened to Eleanor? What Williams family does she come from? What happened to Zulia afte she gave birth to my grandfather, Norman Phelps MASON in Birmingham on 14 Dec. 1893? His father was James Norman MASON, b. Virginia about 1856. Can find no record of their marriage in AL Archives nor her death or burial (Zulia's). We can also trace James Norman MASON to Baltimore, MD, and back to Bessemer, AL. Anyone knowing anything about this ALLEN, WILLIAMS, or MASON family - help!
