I have a Calhoun Abernathy who married Mary P Moon bn October 31, 1826. Mary and Calhoun married on December 12, 1851. Mary was the daughter of John Moon and Mary E Jackson Both bn in Va. They came to Ga from Nottoway Va about 1826.
John's Children are on the 1850 census listed as John Moore and John Moon Sr is on the 1860 census with some of the children still at home and others are listed nearby.

Do you know if he was related to your David?
