I am helping a friend with his family history and need a little help myself. I am looking for a William Byers Smith who was born abt. 1810 and died Feb. 17, 1862 in Limestone Co., AL. He was married to Emeline McCown Smith. They moved to Limestone Co. around 1859 or 1860. My friend is trying to find out any information possible about his time spent in Limestone Co. but is really interested in finding where he is buried. He says that he has been told that when William died, they couldn't get him back to the cemetery in Lincoln Co., TN so they just buried him on the land that they lived on. He does show up on the 1860 Limestone Co. Census living with his wife and another family (the Standerfer's and Scrimcher's). I don't know if William owned the property that they lived on or the other family owned it. Any information would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks and have a great day!!
