In the 1880 census there is a J.C. Brooks family listed.
J.C.Brooks (wm) 47 Ga Sc Nc
E.F. (wf) 42 Al Ga Ga
Ezella (wf) 6 Al
Mary (wf) 4 Al
J. (wm) 1mo. Al

This is James Brooks, his wife, Eliza Frances Slappey.
Ezella married George W. Chadwick
Mary "Molley" Wilmee married Francis Elkins
don't know who "J" is ????
another son was born 6 jun 1894, William Aaron Brooks
14 apr 1895(Russ.Co.Al) James m. Sallie Jane Riddle, dau. of Wiliam H. Riddle. Most of these people are buried at Pleasant Grove Church cem. in Lee Co. Al.
William Aaron m. Dovie Woods and they had William Curtis Brooks and Maggie Mae Brooks. William Aaron then married Clara Rainy.
Can anyone PLEASE help fill in the blanks with this family?
Dovie Woods married a Kimbrough.they had a daughter and I was told he was a preacher of a church in Col. Ga....he fell dead on the steps one day of a heart attack. sometime between 1914 and 16. ???
Dovie and William Aaron married abt. 1916 in Ga.
Can not find anything on Dovie Woods....
