Hi Katherine,

I believe the following census entries are for the Black family you are researching. Fred Black's name took a bit of a beating on the census records, but I think I have captured the right family. Also, ages on some of the census records change as time goes by, sometimes substantially; however, that is fairly common (when they are wrong they usually become younger).

Also found some census records for the Willis family, but I'm not as sure of them, so you will have to do some additional research to see if the information is correct.

Hope this helps a bit.

Regards,
Charlene
Toronto

Note: The state names on each line represent the birthplace of the person, followed by the birthplace of their father and then mother. This often changes from one census to another.

I'm not as sure of this information for the Willis family. There was no listing for an Arthur Willis (born 1890s) on the 1900 census - one George A. Perhaps if you could find his death registration, it might list his parents (or maybe marriage registration).

World War 1 Draft Registration Card:
Arthur Willis

Sylvester Willis - 1617 19th St, Ensley, Alabama - also working at American Steel & Wire
