Hartis family in Alabama in 1800's

I am looking for information on a Hartis family who were in Alabama in the 1800's. They may have been near Brownsville, Whitens, or Coosa. 3 men served in the Confederacy. I believe they may be the descendants of Charles Hartis, born about 1800 in Mecklenburg Co., N.C.
Will someone please help me with this? Thanks, Violet
