Hello, I was just browsing tonight and saw your posting. I have a couple of old notes on Moore people in Hillsborough which was a very early railroad town here in Lawrence County Alabama. 1824 Charles Cottongime indebt to John Nicholson conveys to William Moore 2 featherbeds, bay mare, 2 bedsteads, roan mare, six cows, 38 hogs and cotton crop The 1830 census of Lawrence County shows the following households in order: Thomas McCrary, Sam George, Arthur F. Hopkins, Samuel Elliott, William Moore, Elizabeth Elder, Daniel Cottingame.(This is the town of Hillsborough and vicinity, the town is now spelled Hillsboro). In 1831 William Moore entered for land in section 5 township 5 range six as follows: the west ½ of the northeast ¼ of section 5, the east ½ of the nw1/4 of section 5. 1833 William and Patsy Moore sell to Sykes the west ½ of the ne1/4 and the e1/2 of the nw1/4 of section 5 township 5 range 6 I hope that maybe some of this might help, in particular notice that in 1833 William Moore's wife was named Patsy. Good Luck in your research, Lisa Lentz Notify Administrator about this message?
