Enoch Melson married Rachel and Jane Chinault

I am searching for more information on Enoch Melson. He is said to have married a Rachel and then in 1859 married Jane Chinault. In the 1860 census of Lawrence County, AL, however, he is living with his son and no wife is shown. Would anyone know more about his marriages? Does anyone have a death date for him? He was 62 in the 1860 census.
