At his home near Landersville, Ala., on Nov. 3, 1901, at 6:30 p.m., J.M. Norwood, aged 63 years and 17 days.
Uncle Marion went through the civil war, came out without a scar, but was never afterward a well man. In Feb 1867[sic] he was married to Jane Berryman and lived happily together until death separated them.
Uncle Marion professed faith and joined the Baptist church at Town Creek in early life; later on in 1870 under the preaching of T.B. Larrimore he united with Old Prospect Christian church, where his body was laid away to moulder back to dust. He lived and died in sight of where he was born with the exception of two years, one of which he spent in Miss.
He leaves a heart broken wife, and orphan boy he raised, one brother and two sisters in Texas, one half sister in Franklin county, and many relatives...
