my john clayton died 1862 in lamar co. prob. in the civil war.he married margaret[peggy] wear.april22 1823 in jefferson co ala. their children were [1]charley[2] elizabeth[3]samuel [4]john clayton jr.[is this yours][5]william callaway[6]martin [7]perry e.[8]steven [9]major. my records show john clayton jr. married mary a. turman dec 24 1874 in lamar co. if this is your line i have 23 yrs of research i will share e-mail me at drainessutton@aol.com
