Thank you. I have up to John Allen Sims, born about 1868, in my family tree. Anyone know the name of his parents and/or grandparents?

I have traced Margaret Louisa "Susie" Rector to her parents, Joel Perry Rector (1850-1935) and Areminta or Arramatie (1846-88) Kemper.

The Rector grandparents were Jeremiah Rector (1809-?) and Mary Smith (1813-?). He was born in South Carolina, she in Spartanburg, SC.

The Kemper grandparents were Peter Kemper, 1804 in Virginia to 1884 in Lamar County; and Minerva Scantton 1818 in Mississippi to ?. Peter's parents may be Harmon and Hannah Kemper, but I could not establish a definite link. Harmon's father was Solomon Kemper and mother was Cecilia Valentine.

Mary Smith's parents were Edward Smith (1769-?) and Jane Alexancer (1775-?). She was born in Spartanburg and he died there; not to say they both weren't born and died there.

The software I use for my tree matches my family members to those of other participants, and I have just now gotten the following information, which I have not independently checked:

Jeremiah's parents were Jesse Russell Rector (1780-1853) born in Yadkin, NC, died in Greenville, SC; and Sarah Cleveland (1789-1876) born in Lewis Fork, Wilkes, NC and died in SC. Her parents were Robert Cleveland born 1743, Blue Run in Orange Co. Va to April 26, 1812 in Lewis Fork, Wilkes Co., NC; and Alice Mathis born Dec. 11, 1750 in Faurquier Co. Virginia, died Dec. 18, 1791 in Wilkes Co., NC.

Robert's father was John Cleveland born in Gloucester Co., Virginia on July 31, 1714 died in Blue Run, Orange Co., Va. in Nov. 1778. His mother was Mary Elizabeth Coffey born in 1740 in Essex Co., Virginia.

John's father Was Alexander Cleveland, born in 1664 and died in 1770 in Gloucester Co., which would have made him over 100 years old. His mother was Mildred Presley born in 1667.

I may be able to go further lately, the Family Tree Builder website is busy.
