I am a historian of the 26th Alabama Regiment and would truly love to hear from descendants of the 26th Alabama which was heavily recruited from the area that would become Lamar County after the war. Take a look at my website, see what I'm trying to do and then let me know if you can fill in any of the blanks. I see A LOT of surnames below that are in the Regiment.
