I dont know all the History details of Beaverton Free Will Baptist Church but, here is what i do know.
In 1946 during an old fashion tent Revival, One of the earliest in Lamar County.
My Grandfather Byrd Thomas Alexander and other men of the Community formally organized The Beaverton Free Will Baptist Church.
On August 8th 1979, Byrd Alexander would visit the old block building for the last time.
I and 5 of his 11 grandsons remember it was so hot our cloths were wringing wet ( like when he baptized most of us ), when we loaded his casket into the Hearse, for his final ride to Piney Grove Free Will Baptist Church Cemetery..
That would not be my last visit to Beaverton FWB but, one i will never forget.
The old landmark is gone but, the memories linger still.
May God have mercy on those responsible for detroying his house.
