After further review of my file, it does seem possible, even probable that Emma being considered here was a daughter of Pleasant J. Henderson and wife Lucyanna (Sims) Henderson. Pleasant J. Henderson must have died during the Civil War as he is not recorded as head of the household in the 1870 census. Lucy Hendersdon is listed as head of the household in the 1870 census.
I do not have a copy of the actual census records, so am relying on incomplete census data that was shared with me some time back by Terry Jackson.
From that census data:
1870 L. E. Henderson; age 7
1880 Emmer Corbel; age 16
I really didn't know for sure if Emma/Emmer was born in 1862 or 1864?
One thing is sure, Lucyanna (Sims) Henderson did marry Alex Corbel on 4-2-1878 in Lamar County, Alabama by, J. G. Holliday, J.P.
It is unclear to me just why the children of Pleasant J. Henderson and wife Lucyanna(Sims) Henderson as enumerated in the 1880 census are listed with the surname Corbel.
As you can see, some of my inforamtion is very incomplete, so about all I can do at this time is speculate based upon best information available.
Until your messages I had no information on whom, when or where the children married. However, your information does seem reasonable with regard to Emma/Emmer having married W.C. Mason on 12 January 1890 in Lamar Co., AL. and that she died in 1927 in Lee County, MS.
Guess more work is required to further complete the records of the family. Being that your husband's Aunt thinks a daughter of Pleasant J. Henderson and wife Lucyanna (Sims) Henderson married a McAdams, that could be a clue to even further insight.

Thanks for getting back to me. Perhaps the two of us will be able to sort things out over time.
