Shirley,
It's been a long time but I have finally tracked down the Pool who was a Rev. War vet. His name is John Pool from S.C. and his Captain in the South Carolina militia was Isaac Mitchell. Both men came to Alabama together and John thought enough of his captain to name his son after him. Priscilla was Isaac Mitchell Pool's daughter and born about 1822. She named her son James after her father Mitchell. James Mitchell McLaughlin is my great grandfather. This info came from Bobby Seal's sight on the Algenweb site for Shelby county. I cross verified it with John's Rev. war pension application at the B'ham Library.

As to the Pool cemetary - it has been nicely fixed up lately by H.B. Pool Jr. He has put some limestone figures from his Dads old house place at the entrance and added a set of gates. He is also having some of the old tombstones repaired that were damaged by some falling pine trees. I believe H.B. has a plat that shows ALL the graves.

Paul
