I am looking for descendants of my Todd ancestors that lived in SC, GA, AL & MS. Jonathan Criswell "Stokley" Todd, married Missouri Palestine "Pallie" Morris in Lamar Co., AL. They had 11 of their 13 children there, before moving to Itawamba Co., MS, where they made their home in Carolina community.
Their children were:
1. James "Robert"Todd,1877-1969, m. 1st. 1896 to Susie B. Wright, with whom he had 6 children. After Susie's death, he m. Harriet Lillian Chandler, but no issue from his marriage. He was a AL state rep. for some years and died in Trussville,Jefferson Co., AL.
2. Florence Imogene "Genie" Todd, 1878-1961, m. 1895 to Thaddeus Augustus "Bud" Boman. They lived their lives in Lamar Co., AL, where they raised 8 children.
3. Dell Clinton Todd, 1879-1964, m. 1901 to Willie Maynard Wright, (sister to Susie, wife of his brother Robert). They lived most of their lives in or around Jefferson Co., AL. They had 12 children.
4. John Claudus Todd, 1882-1902, m. 1902 to 1st. to Alvia Retha Belle Sloan, they had 8 children, and she died in 1925. He m. 2nd. Catherine Newell about 1930, and they had 5 children.
5. Ada Cassandra Todd, 1883-1976, m. William W. Weaver prob. in MS. They had 5 children and lived most of their lives in Itawamba or Monroe Co., MS.
6. Laura Todd, 1886-1980, m. Eugene Wardlaw. They had 10 children, and lived most of their lives in MS.
7. Emmett Rufus Todd, 1888-1978, m. Vallie Hester. They had 4 children and lived most of their lives in MS.
8. Raymond Edgar Todd, 1890-1980,m. 1910 to Cordelia Boozer. They had two children and lived most of their lives in MS.
9. Rosa Lamar Todd, 1892-1971, m. 1911 to Rev. Arthur Dale Vaughn. They had 9 children and lived in TX, CA,OR, and WA. I think they died around Sacramento, CA. Contact with this family was lost many years ago.
10. Mary Ella Todd, 1894-1980, m. 1st. Joe Lee Pennington abt. 1915. They had 4 children. She m. 2nd. John Wilhite. They lived most of their lives around Jefferson Co., AL.
11. William Rex Todd, 1897-1901. He was b. in Lamar Co., AL, but died in Itawamba Co., due to burns he received from falling in a fire. He was always referred as "Little Rex" by the family.
12. Lillie Leona Dale Todd, 1900-1983, m. 1918, 1st. James Anderson Farr. They had 4 children. After James'death, she married 2nd. 1954 Jessie Benton Roberts. She lived her whole life in Itawamba Co., MS.
13. Lila Gladys Todd, 1902-1951, m. 1919 Chandler Corbett Shumpert. They had 2 children and lived most of their lives in Columbus, Lowndes Co., MS.
I would like to hear from descendants of this family, so that I can correct dates, and add more names of the family to my files. I will share what I have in exchange for your contributions. Thanks in advance for your information.
