Paul,
Please let me correct myself. Mitch was not my ggg-grandfather as I previously stated. His brother, John C. Pool, Martha Pool's second husband was my ggg-grandfather. John and Pricilla were brother and sister. Martha Strickland married brothers, Mitch and John Pool. John Pool and several of his children were killed in the tornado that came through the valley in 1884.

Mitchell and Martha Pool's children:
Isaac Mitchell Pool 1833-1867
John Preston Pool 1861-1929
Mary Elin "Mollie" Pool 1864-1879
James S. Pool 1866-1884 (killed in tornado)

John C. and Martha Pools' children:

Lewis C. Pool 1868-1884 (killed in tornado)
Dora Alica Pool 1873-1884 (killed in tornado)
Charlie Pool 1880-1881
William N. (Bill) Pool 1871-1957
Alonzo Jackson Pool 1873-1958
Albert (Bert) Pool 1883-1973

I descend from Alonzo Jackson and Hattie Josephine McDanal Pool (my great-grandparents).

I am familiar with the Pool cemetery on Hwy 119.

Sorry, I don't have any information regarding Mitch's father being connected to the Rev. War.
Shirley Dewberry
