Are you looking for GW Hewitt born in 1766 in England or the one from the Civil War (b1834)? I am the gggGrandaughter of one and the ggggg of the elder (I think that's correct.)

Anyway, there is a small booklet about the Hewitt family that tells some of the history and family connections between them and the Tarrants. The name of the book is "The Wilson, Hallmark, Hendricks, Hewitt Families." The author is Barnett F. Wilson of Ft. Payne, AL. There is no publisher listed.

Earl Massey, who I think lives in Trussville, has a good deal of info on the families.

Also, both of the GWs are buried in the Bham area and Ruth Hewitt of Tarrant City is a direct descendant.

If there is anything else, please email me.
