Roderick Morrison (Pike CO. AL)

I grew up in Troy AL. Can someone give me information about a Roderick Morrison (b. ca. 1830-34;died 24 Jan 1864 in Rock Island Prison IL)who served in the Quitman Guards, Company I, 15th Alabama Regimentfrom Pike County (Troy) AL? I think he was either a cousin or possibly an uncle to James Morrison (b. ca.1843, died 1862)who also served in the same company from Pike County and was the eldest child of John Morrison b. 1820, m. Anna Jane Stephens. Both James and Rodericks' names appear on the Confederate Memorial statue in Court Square, Troy. Some kindred Morrisons probably live in Jefferson County. If anyone can help, thank you!!
