Kennedy and Ailsey Parsons by Lennette Trout of 1930 My husband's g-grandfather was named Elias Dannie Kennedy; born 22 Apr 1849 in Itawamba Co, MS. He married Julia Jane Hosmer in Tuscaloosa Co, AL on 9 Dec 1873. I believe this Tuscaloosa branch of the Kennedy's intermarried some with the Parson's family in that area, and there were other Kennedy's, but the Elias given name was common. It came from the material grandfather, Elias DeJarnette (daughter was Sarah DeJarnette Kennedy). The DeJarnettes originally came from France. This Kennedy family was Scotch-Irish (border Scots who moved to Ulster Co, Ireland) and lived in South Carolina before going to Alabama, MS, and back to Alabama. One group of brothers settled in Mobile; only Elias Dannie's father (Silas Maxfield) settled in Tuscaloosa Co, Alabama (which borders Jefferson County). Notify Administrator about this message?
