Now that I have located Brittana Green McGuire Flynn, I am trying to locate her parents. Since Brittana never left Jefferson County, I am concentrating my efforts there for now. Here's what I know for sure: both parents were born in NC or SC, probably SC. They were married and in AL by 1834 because B. was born there. There were three Green families in the 1840 Jefferson County area; the families of Joseph Green, Robert H. Green, and George Green. All families had girls between 5 and 10 in the 1840 Census; B. would have been 6. In the 1850 Census Joseph and George are not mentioned. Robert H. is still in the area. Robert H. was born in SC. His wife's name was Catherine, or Kitty. No mention of a girl of 16 in the household. Jane T. Green (widow of Joseph or George?) is in the area; she was born in SC and seems to be a widow. There is a girl named Ann of 16 in her household. Could this be Brittana? In the 1860 Census Brittana is already married and living with John McGuire in the Cataba Valley District; John's father Davidson is nearby. B & J were married by 1854. So she was probably somewhere in the vicinity in 1850. But where???????? I would appreciate any info that would help me confirm or eliminate these folks as Brittana's parents. Thanks!
