Dear List Members and Cousins,
It has been a long time since I posted a query about this line of mine, so i
want to try again to see if newer members may have a connection to this
family.
I need to locate living descendants of the family of William Brittian
Phillips of Etowah and Jefferson County, Alabama. He was the son of Jesse P.
Phillips and Rebecca Morton of Etowah and Marshall County, AL. William B.
Phillips married Mary Rachel Smith in Etowah County in 1877.
William B. Phillips and Mary Rachel Smith had seven children;
1. Arminda B. Phillips (b. abt 1878)
2. Magnolia Phillips (b. abt. 1880)
3. Jesse Monroe Phillips (b. Jan. 12, 1883 d. Dec. 27, 1973)
4. William Phillips (b. June, 1885) m. Maude ???
5. Lela Phillips (b. May, 1889) m. Forney J. Mize on Mar. 10,
1907.
6. Edwin M. "Eddie" Phillips (b. Dec. 19, 1894, d. Dec., 1978 in
Jefferson Co., AL)
7. Viola Mae Phillips (b. Sept. 1896) m. George Knowles
Jesse Monroe Phillips and his sister, Lela Phillips, were married in a
double wedding on Mar. 10, 1907 in Blount County. Jesse married Ida Belle
Cornelius and Lela married Forney Mize.
Jesse M. Phillips only had two great-grandchildren, my sister and myself. He
only had one child and one grandchild. I inherited all the old pictures of
this Phillips line with most being unidentified. Some pictures have Jesse in
them, both as a child and as an adult, with many unknown people in these
pictures with him. I would LOVE to find someone who descends from any of
these lines who may have copies of some of these pictures who might be able
to identify the faces.
It has been a couple years since I've looked for living descendants online
of this family, so now I'm trying once again. My mother and grandmother are
gone, and I never knew of any "cousins" growing up to connect with, so I'm
desperate to find anyone who may be related to any of these people so i can
exchange records and share photos with. Any help or guidance in locating
living descendants would mean so much to me. If anyone knows anything about
