I also have a copy of Julia West's Indian application but I have not been able to make a connection with those Browns.
There was probably a saw mill in just about every town or community at that time. Everybody needed number then so cutting tember and saw milling was a big busuness then.
The goverment took the Indian's land and escorted them to reservations in Oklahoma. I'm sure you have heard of the Trail of Tears. But some of the Indians forced to leave Tennessee managed to escape the soldiars and went to other places on their own.
