WILLIAM WILSON/SARAH ? BORN 1800 SC-IN GA/AL BY 1850
Still looking for help finding my Wilson family. William Wilson, born ca 1802 SC, and wife Sarah had the following children:
Benjamin W. E. Wilson (ca 1829 SC); Mary M. (ca 1837 SC); Abbey L. (ca 1838 SC); Martha A. (ca1839 SC); James (ca 1841 SC); Susy/Suzy C. (ca 1843 GA); Jerry M (ca 1845 GA) ; Minerva/Manerva J. (ca 1847 GA); Sarah E. (ca 1849 GA); Abraham/Abram (ca 1851-1852 GA)
William Wilson (wife Sarah is not shown) and some of the children are later shown on the 1860 DEKALB Co AL census. I'm guessing that by this time, Sarah has died.
Then, on the 1870 JACKSON CO AL census, I find a William Wilson age 68 born SC, living in the home of David Wenrick and wife, Manerva. I think that this is most likely the Manerva/Minerva Wilson shown on the earlier census records and I believe that this William Wilson is her father. There is also a Josephine Chambers(?), age 10 born AL, living in this home. I do not know how she is connected to this family.
I believe the Abraham Wilson shown on the 1860 DEKALB Co AL census to be my great grandfather. He appears on the 1870 Morgan Co AL census living next door to a Sarah (Wilson?) Crosby/Cosby. I believe her to be his sister Sarah, as shown on the 1850 & 1860 census records. Abe is shown living in the home of a Mary (Wilson?) Woodall, age 33, born ca 1837 SC. I believe she is also his sister, the Mary Wilson shown on the 1850 census.
