MRS. RUBY LEA HARDY WHITE
Mrs. Ruby Lea Hardy White, 74, of Panama City, died Thursday in a local hospital. She was a native of Houston County, Ala., but had been a resident of Bay County since 1949, coming here from Alabama. She was a retired school teacher with the Bay County School Board after 25 years of service and was a member of the Covenant Presbyterian Church. Mrs. White is survived by three sisters, Mrs. Ida Byrd and Mrs. Robbie Nell Jernigan, both of Panama City, and Mrs. Annie Holladay of Birmingham, Ala.; three brothers, Mr. Charlie A. Hardy of Hendersonville, N. C., Dr. W. C. Hardy of Tallahassee, Fla., and J. J. Hardy of Dothan, Ala. Funeral services held 11 am Saturday in the Southerland Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Ray Lanning officiating. Interment will follow at 3:30 pm Saturday in the Beulah Cemetery three miles north of Dothan. Asked to serve as active and honorary pallbearers are the officers and members of the Covenant Presbyterian Church; Raymond Helms; Vernon Hicks; Leno Bombay; Charles Matthews; N. K. McKinnon; and Charles Blackwell. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 pm Friday night at the Southerland Funeral Home Chapel. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Covenant Presbyterian Church, P. O. Box 4008, Panama City, Fla. 32401.
(Ruby was a daughter of James Clayton Hardy & Ellanorton J. Peacock... her husband was Grover Lamar White... both are buried at Beulah Baptist Church Cemeter in Dothan, Houston Co., Ala.)
