Mrs. Ida (Eddins) Byrd, 91, of 648 Magnolia Ave., Panama City, died Sept 8 in a local nursing home. She had been a resident of Panama City for 45 years coming here from Dothan, Ala. She was a homemaker and a member of the Senior Citizen's Club, and of the Baptist faith. Mrs. Byrd is survived by four daughters: Mrs. Doris Kirvin, Mrs. Elinor Zimmerman, and Mrs. Lydia Shoemaker, all of Panama City, and Mrs. Louise Abston of Pell City, Ala.; five sons, Mr. Otha Ray Eddins, Mr. Paul Eddins, Mr. Ralph Eddins, all of Panama City, and Mr. Charlie B. Eddins of Troy, Ala. and Mr. Glenn Eddins of Ashford, Ala. 20 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Robbie Nell Jernigan of Panama City and Mrs. Annie Holliday of Birmingham, Ala.; three brothers, Mr. J. J. Hardy of Dothan, Ala., Mr. Charlie A. Hardy of Hendersonville, N. C., and Dr. Willie Hardy of Tallahassee, Fla. Funeral services for Mrs. Byrd will be held Wednesday at 2 pm in the Southerland Funeral Home Chapel with W. Steve Southerland officiating. Interment will follow at Greenwood Cemetery. Asked to be active pallbearers are the grandsons. The family will be staying at 2920 Kingswood Dr. The family will be at the funeral home for visitation tonight from 6 until 8 pm.
