I've been tracking a Aseneth________ Clemons b. abt 1798 SC. She was probably m. to a Joseph Clemons who probably died 1838-40 perhaps in Gadsden FL.
I find:
1830 census Quincy Gadsden, Fl (Joseph family)
1840 census Randolph Co Ga(Sinthey Clemmons with no 40-50 man
1850 census Randolph Co Ga (Essenna Clement)
1855 census Henry Co Al (Aseneth Clemons)
1860 census Columbia, Henry Co Al (JJ Clemons with mother Assenith Clemons)---son John E Clemons and wife Penna are close by.

It looks like Aseneth had children Elizabeth abt 1826 Florida, Powitton 1829 Fl, John e b. 1831, Samuel b. 1832 FL Florida,Joseph J. b 1835 GA or Fl, Jefferson N b. 1839 Quitman Co GA or Fl. (1850 census lists children b. Fl)

Wonder if Aseneth Clemons b. 1822 could have been John Loggins wife??

Strangely, on down the line is Philip Alston Clemons b. 1880. I've been digging around and don't find a reason for Philip to have Alston as a middle name. Jane
