A twisting tale that has yet to end! My GrGrGFth John Lanton from SC married Mathilda Dolittle of SC in Lincoln County GA 11 JAN 1824 and by the 1850 FedCensus and the Henry County Census of 1850 and 1855 they are listed in dwl 338 page 401 on microfilm & pg 32 on 1855 microfilm under the Surname of LANTERN with 8 children in 1850/9 in 1855. I seek info re the parents names of John and Mathilda. Also one of their son's Thomas is my GrGFth. He was born in 1844 in GA, served in the 60th AL Inf Co. E in the War of Northern Aggression, returned to Henry County after the war and married Sarah Talley born 22 OCT 1845 in Henry County and they married on 1 Nov 1868 in Abbeville, bearing 3 children: John (marr Louisa Stokes 16AUG1890), Charles, and Ida L. (marr I.A. Peters 19DEC1891 in Dale Cty AL). Thomas left this family and moved to Arkansas and started a new family.....of which I am part. Came to Abbeville 3 yrs ago and secured from the County library a paper written by Dwight Talley Sr. that traces the Talley's but I would like to touch base with offsprings of Tom and Sarah that may still reside in Henry County...and also someone might know of the date of demise for John and Mathilda, their other children and also some of the families of John, Charles, and Ida from the union of Tom and Sarah. I would ever be grateful for any assistance you can provide. THANX!
