I am trying to find informaton on my family
that was born in Ala, part unkown. my GG GF
was William P. Griffin, Born in Ala. on July
8, 1831.He had at least one brother, Isaac W
Griffin, Born in Ala on Nov 2, 1825. William
P married Elizabeth Jackson, Born in Tenn.
Isaac W. Married Martha ????, Date unknown.
I suspect there was more in the family. Also
I have heard that the father might be Andrew
J Griffin, but not proven. William came up
thru Tenn and then to southern Illinois, Pope
county in the early 1850's. They were picked
up on the 1860 census in Pope county. In the
census, Isaac had a person by the name of
Hester A. picked up on the census age 65.
This could be the widow of Martha or William
and Isaacs Mother. She disappears on the 1870
census. If anyone runs accross any information on this family, I would surely
appreciate it. Many thanks. Jim
PS Could be Hale county or Bibb, or others.
