William Jesse Averett was born 8-3-1879 at Five Mile, Hale County, Alabama and died 3-17-1957 in Hale County, Alabama.
He married Sara Barnett (my grandfather, Homer Lake's aunt). I understand they had 7 children; Lula Mae, Carl, James, Henry, William, Edgar and Tom. I remember as a child going to their house in Havana, Al (about 4 miles from where I lived in Moundville) and playing with great grand kids on swings hung in large trees in the front yard.
