This is good information. I'm trying to see where the Griffins came from and if there was a mix of white in my ancestors. I have just started my search for my ancestors. My mother is a Griffin (African American). So far I have been able to trace back to my GGGrandfather Abe Griffin and his wife Ida Coleman.
I have found Abe on the 1910 Census in Hale County, AL. It says he was born in Alabama. He is the only or first Griffin that I have found in Hale County. Apparently, his children were born in McDuffie County, Georgia, so I'm not sure when he left Alabama. It says his mother and father were also of Alabama and I would like to have more information on Abe and even his father. Abe would have been born around 1880.

If you have any info or can help I would appreciate it.

Thanks
