Military Historian seeks information regarding John W. Royal of Greensboro, AL. (Hale County)

His "dog tag" was recently found at Vanuatu, in the New Hebrides Islands, in the South Pacific.

Information I have for Joyhn W. Royal is as follows:

Dog Tag information:

John W Royal
34559395 T43 0
Lenna Royal
RT 1 BX 15
Greensboro ALA P

The 8-digit number under his name is his Army Service Number.

T 43 is the date of his Tetanus Inoculation.
O is his blood type

Leena Royal could be his wife or mother.
RT 1 Bx 15 was her address that he gave for emergency contact.

Greensboro ALA is the location

P is his religious preference Protestant.

Military database verifies the name with the ASN and information from database correlates with SSDI information:

Born 7JUL1919
Died 25SEP66.

Induction was DEC42
Separation was NOV45
Service: Army

Finder of the dog tag would like to return it to his family.

Looking for family, death record, obituary or extended family information.

Please reply directly to my email: OHBERRY@aol.com

David R. Berry
Dayton, OH
PS: I don't have the tag--it is still in the South Pacific.
