Anita:
I am looking for information on descendants
of William and Jane Cooper Hemphill who
lived in in Greene County,Al. from about
1829 to 1842, and James Simpson Hemphill
and Abigail Williams Hemphill who lived there
in the same period. A history of Hale County,
says that Simpson Hemphill and Harvey Tyndall
opened a store in Newbern about 1829 that
the people referred to as the "grab bag
store" I would be grateful if you can tell
me if there are Hemphills or Williams
buried in the Cemeteries in Hale County.
Regards,
Bill Pittman
