William Martin (1849-1836) Sheriff of Hale County, m. 1) Julia Syring,on December 28, 1871, 2) Jane Garnett after 1893. He was the son of EDWIN T. MARTIN and SARAH WILLIAMS. Children by first marriage:

2) William Martin, 1874-1945, m. Ada Adelia Pilkerton.
3) Julia L. Martin, b. 1876, m. Bishop Hutt.
4) Aurry Valley Martin, 1879-1912, m. 1)
Martin M. Stringfellow, 2) James King.
5) Jessie Henrietta Martin, 1882-1966, m. Philip Reilly.
6) John Robert Martin, 1884-1974, m. Naomi Pilkerton.
7) Sarah Susan Martin, 1886-1928, Henry Moses Boykin.
8) Lillie Ethel Martin, 1888-1964, m. Woolsey Morrow.
