I am looking for information on Mortons that lived in Greene County in the 1830's. Mary Elizabeth Morton and her brothers(I think), Absolem and George W. Morton were orphaned at some point. I would like to know what happened to Mary's parents and brothers. I found the siblings listed in guardianship records in Williamson Co TN with James Johnson as their guardian.
Mary Elizabeth Morton married Caleb W. Taylor in Greene County Alabama. They moved to Mississippi and established the town of Morton. My family still lives in Morton.
