Peter Evans was born about 1788 in NC and died after 1850. He married Sarah Hunter born about 1797 in NC and who died after 1850. They are said to be buried in unmarked graves in the Stokes Cemetery in Greensboro, AL. They had the following children:
1) Jessie Evans
2) John Evans
3) Minnie Evans
4) Stith Evans
5) James R. Evans, born 1817, married Catherine O. Dorman. He was an attorney and Judge.
6) Henry F. Evans, born 1819, married Eliza Crawford
7) Susannah E. Evans, (1824-1894) m. Henry Syring on May 15, 1845, Greene Co. AL. She and Henry are buried at Rhodes Chapel Chapel Church in Hale Co. AL. (my line)
8) Alexander Jefferson Evans, (1827-1864) m. Mary A. B. Harless in Greensboro, AL. He died in a Yankee Prison during the Civil War.
9) Peter J. Evans, born 1829, married Laura Logan.
10) William L. Evans, born 1839
11) Nancy F. Evans, born 1834, m. Henry Newton Paine.
12) Samuel Saul Evans, (1835-1910) m. Mary Louise Bondurant.
13) Sarah A. H. Evans, born 1839, married Henderson C. Campbell.
