I don't know if any copies of Woe and Giddiup are for sale anywhere, but I found a copy at the Houston Love Public Library in Dothan (http://www.houstonlovelibrary.org/ ). Unfortunately, Mrs Dobson's books contain little to no source documentation of specific items in them. I began collecting data about Powell families of SE Alabama in an effort to verify names and dates in those books. What I have found so far is stored on my website, Alabama Homing, at http://home.comcast.net/~wildamurphy/powell/powell.htm .

Mrs Dobson died in Apr 2000. Her obituary:
http://www.wiregrass.com/ozark/obit2.html:
Ozark, Alabama News - Obituaries - Feb 2000 - July 2000

Mrs. Rebecca Dobson, age 70, of Ozark, died Monday April 24, 2000.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Friday at Kinston Baptist Church with Rev. John Freeman officiating. Burial will follow in the Kinston Cemetery with Fuqua-Bankston Funeral Home of Ozark directing. Visitation will be Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Mrs. Dobson was a member of D.A.R., D.C.U. of Tampa, Fla., American Association of Women, Hillsborough Retired Educators, Florida Retired Educators Association, AARP (NRTA Division), 1999 Who's Who in the South and Southwest, and 2000 Who's Who in the World. She authored "Woe and Giddiup" and "Possums Run Over Their Graves" (genealogy books), as well as "Grits, Greens and Gumbo" southern ancestors cookbook. Mrs. Dobson was born and raised in Kinston. She graduated from Kinston High School and University of Tampa, Fla. She taught school for 30 years in Tampa.
Mrs. Dobson is preceded in death by her father, Marcus Enelon Newsom; mother, Henrietta Elizabeth Fleming; and stepfather, Harry Thomas (Bud) Norton. She is survived by her husband, Bernard (Bernie) Dobson of Ozark.

(wrm note: Rebecca Newsom was age 8 on 1930 census, Coffee Co, Al.)

Another small item I found about Rev J F and Nancy Powell as members of Eden Baptist Church:
Church Records of Southeast Alabama, Book 1, compiled by Lavinia Jordan Helms, pg 277:
P D Powell was added to the church in July 1911. A Sallie Powell was added at same time.

Pg 310: Members of Eden Baptist Church 1909 (?) (question mark part of listing title in book) includes:
Powell, P D               Received by letter (Perry Davis, son of Abraham and Lithie)
       Powell, Sallie              " "
       Powell, Lilla              Exp(erience) 1913
       Ray, Maggie (M* Powell)        Exp(erience)
*wrm note: I think the M stands for "married" (Madison Monroe Powell's first wife - div.)

Pg 320: Latest Roll
       Name              How received       How dismissed
Powell, Amy       Letter 1932                     (William Amy? grandson of P D?, bur. at Eden)
Powell, Mrs F       Baptized 1938       Letter
Powell, Rev J F       Letter 1938       Letter 1948       (James F, grandson of Ferdinan? m. Nancy Crews; bur at Liberty Chapel)
       Powell, Mrs J F        " "               " "
