CORBITT Family of Hartford

My great great grandfather, William Samuel CORBITT, his wife Fairnette nee WEST moved to Hartford from Lawrenceville, Henry County, AL sometime after the 1880 census and before the 1900 census along with their 8 children – girls: Willie, Alice, Emma, Annie and Sallie; boys: Larkin, Andrew and Lexie. According to what I have been able to determine, he died on July 7, 1904 and she died on January 31, 1907. Both died in Hartford and are buried in the Hartford City Cemetery.

Before I make the trip from my home in FL to do additional research in Geneva County, can anyone answer the following questions:

The children of William and Fairnette married as follows:
Larkin m Ida Louise TRAYLOR abt 1903 in Geneva County
Annie m Charles Lafayette METCALF in 1901 in Geneva County
Emma m William Robert HARDWICK in 1900 in Geneva County
Willie never married but was still in Geneva County for the 1910 census
Alice m Elbert HOLLEY abt 1916 in Geneva County
Sallie may have married Charles HARDWICK abt 1901 in Geneva County although the 1910 census does not indicate that to be a fact

Do any of the above names look like they are part of your ancestry?

It appears that several families migrated from Henry County to Geneva County during this time interval. Any idea why?

What newspaper(s) printed obituaries for Hartford during time of William and Fairnette’s death (1904 to 1907)? Where is the best place to look for the printed obituaries i.e. library, online, newspaper office?

Where are death certificates kept or were they generally recorded during the 1904 to 1907 timeframe?

My Corbitt family genealogy is on line at the following URL for reference if needed:

Any information, suggestions, comments, corrections, clarification, lookups etc. would be greatly appreciated.
