Hello Patricia,
Moses Duke Foster was born Nov. 1811, in S.C., the son of Thomas Loyd & Elizabeth Kesiah "Duke" Foster. Thomas Loyd Foster was born abt. 1780 in S.C., and died abt. 1847 in Fayette Co., Alabama. His father is unknown, but his uncle was Ambrose Foster, who married Rebecca Mary Lewis, they had two known son's; Thomas, and Joel Lewis Foster. Joel Lewis Foster married Mary Jane Armstrong Feb. 23, 1790 in Abbeville Dist., S.C., and they had 14 children. Thomas Loyd & Elizabeth Kesiah "Duke" Foster had 7 children. I'm not sure if they are related to Jeremiah Foster! Jeremiah & Lucinda Foster had 10 children, and their tenth child was James W. Foster born Mar. 1859, he married Mary Manervia Spencer abt. 1882, they had five known children. Their oldest son was William L. Foster born Jan. 26, 1887, and died Jan. 31, 1931 in Calhoun Co., Ms. He was buried at Ellzy Cemetery, north of Vardeman, Ms.! He married Tollie M. Brannon, and had four known children, their only son, was Jesse Franklin Foster, born Oct. 23, 1912, and died Aug. 30, 1992. He was also buried at Ellzy Cemetery, he married Lillie Mae Terry, and had 8 children. Lillie Mae was my wife's great aunt! I sure would appreciate any help on this line of Foster's.
William G. Latham Jr.
