Thanks for your prompt reply.
My husband Nick Van Boddie Williams Jr. is part of a line of Williams that extend from NC to TN and then beyond. Nick is a participant in the Roots Web DNA study and is in group 9. Others in this group have traced their line to John Williams and Ann Whitley of VA. Yet others seem to come from lines that extended from SC and onwards to AL and AK. If they are coming from the same source, then there was an obvious split and some went more west and others south and then west.
The line I am currently interested in is from Judson Williams in Group 9. We are trying to make the connection to figure out WHICH Williams descendant his line extends from. Apparently his line extends from a James Williams b. 1730-49 who d. in Kershaw Co., SC (unproven). Then onwards to Robert Williams b. 1766 Lancaster Co., SC who may have married a Mary Horton with son Jesse Horton Williams. He was a revolutionary soldier.
Then, it extens to Lemuel Moses Williams b. 1794 in Chester Co., SC and finally to two William Dillard Williams-es Sr. & Jr. Wm. D. Williams Sr. b 1819 in Lancaster Co. SC and Jr was b. 1865 in Fayette Co. AL.
Do you have any of these names in your file? If so, can you elaborate on the line? Wives, children?
Also, for my own line that I'm tracing. Do you have any William Williams b. about 1720, probably in VA or Halifax or Edgecombe, NC who married a Miss Thomas and had a son named Elisha Wiliams who married Sarah Josey? Elisha resided in Franklin Co, NC and moved to Nashville, TN when two of his sons married to daughters of Joseph Philips. His father and mother are the illusive couple!
Lots of questions. THANKS for taking a look.
