John Reed, 1752 NC - post 1833 Fayette Co., AL
The Revolutionary War pension application of John Reed was made 2 Sept 1833 Fayette Co., AL. In it he states that he was born 1752 in NC; he enlisted in the War while a resident of Wilkes Co., NC, serving in the NC Line. After the War he lived in VA, GA, and AL.
Can anyone tell me something of the origins of this man or his descendants?
Could he possibly be the "oldest brother, a resident of Jefferson Co., AL" referred to in the 5 Jul 1833 pension application of Nathan Reed of Perry Co., AL. Any evidence that John Reed of Fayette Co., AL moved from Jefferson Co. to Fayette Co. between July and Sept of 1833? He is not listed on the 1830 census of Fayette Co; however he would have been quite elderly, so possibly living in the household of a relative.
