Sheppard info

Does anyone have the book by Mr. Sullivan called "The History of Newtonville and Its Pioneer Citizens" that I could buy or that you could copy the first 23 pages from for me? I'll be glad to pay the cost.

Also, is there a history on the Shepherd Baptist Church in Newtonville? I would really like to have a copy if there is. Will be glad to purchase book or pay for copies.

I am trying to make the John Shepherd born 1848, son of Robert Sheppard and Elizabeth Yerby Shepherd in Fayette County, AL 1850 census to be our John Sheppard. The family came to Rankin County, MS by the 1860s or before, but I need something that had John's middle initial or name (Cosper) to make a good connection.

Robert was a brother to Isaac Shepherd whose house the Shepherd Baptist Church was formed in. I would like to get a list of the early members of the church if possible. I would really like a history of the church.

I drove from Jackson, MS to Fayette today and visited the church and cemetary. Had a pleasant trip and got several bits of info in the library in Fayette.

Please advise.

Thanks,
Jo Dunn Sheppard
