D.S. Harris/Adaline Griffin - Fayette AL - 1867-1875 . . .

The following comments were included in my aunt's research notes on the Troy Griffin family (view at my website)

"Ira Griffin and D. S. Harris (Mr. Harris' name was added on top of Ira's name) were administrators of Troy Griffin's Estate. Laura Melinda (spelled Malinda on Estate papers) and William J. C. Reese were married in the home of D. S. Harris; so I do not know the connection he has with Adaline Griffin."

We have never been able to discover Adaline Griffin's maiden name. She is most surely the widow of Michael Shepherd of Anson Co. NC - Fayette Co. AL, who died in 1850.

D. S. Harris was an administrator of Troy's estate, with his son. Troy & Adaline's only daughter was married in his home. We do not find the Harris name anywhere connected with other Griffins. Was he related to Adaline Shepherd Griffin?

Does anybody have the family of D.S. Harris, and his connection to the Griffin family? Was Adaline a Harris?

Do any of you have an Adaline Harris who married Michael Shephard and/or Troy Griffin? IF you do.... oh PLEASE contact me!!

Thank you,
M. J. Soto
