I do not know if this is of any value to you, but my wife's grandfather was a Mark J. Harris. His father was C.W. Harris,Sr. I believe they originated in Marshall County, Alabama. Mark lived in East Gadsden as long as I knew him and died at home in 1983. He is buried in Crestwood Cemetery at East Gadsden. I do not know if this is of any help to you, but it is at least one set of Harris' that lived in Etowah County, probably some relation, but distant perhaps.
