I looked in the Etowah Co. cemetery records and find no listing for Charles M. Campbell. However I did find this in the Alabama death certificate index (no Charles Campbell was listed for Etowah Co.)
Charles M. Campbell
died July 1939
Tuscaloosa Co.
cert. 16485
I mention this because Bryce Mental Hospital is in Tuscaloosa County. Lots of people were sent there for various reasons in the early 1900s. A lot died there. This may be your guy and he may be buried in Tuscaloosa. I can get a copy of the certificate if you want. I charge $3 plus postage per certificate (compared to $12 charged by Alabama vital records office). Let me know if you are interested.
