Thanks Ernie, this is the one I had vague recollections about. Do you live in Gadsden? Is the bridge still there?

I was born in Ala but grew up in Tx. Every couple of years we would visit Ala to visit my grandmother in Oneonta and usually there was a trip to Gadsden to visit my mother's cousin Ruth Crump who owned Crump's Florist at that time. I don't even know if the Crump family still owns a florist, but I do recall playing in the flower shop and hearing that story as we crossed the bridge.
Thanks again for helping with a childhood memory. Carol
