DeKalb County Al had all their old records in the basement back in the 60's and 70's when I did all my research. I tried to get some of the family inDeKalb Co to be sure they were preserved, cause I sifted through them - they were just loose in envelopes - and found most of what I needed. Some records about the census and land records were in the oldest Marriage record book. Hope someone rescued those records.
